Evenzo kijken naar een schilder die aan het werk is, waarom. Of muzikanten, zangers in de opnamestudio, dansers op de Barre. Ik geloof dat het een egotrip is en ik ben niet geïnteresseerd in het zien van de fotograaf en het is een afleiding. Het eindproduct staat centraal, niet de productie...

I don't find this genre appealing, the camera is a tool like the printing press is to literature and I'm not remotely interested in watching that process. Similarly watching a painter working, why. Or musicians, singers in the recording studio, dancers on the Barre. I believe it's an ego trip and I'm not interested in seeing the photographer and it's a distraction. The finished article is the focus, not the production...

In feite, met iedereen die getalenteerd is, of het nu een muzikant, zanger, danser, enz. is, kijk ik graag naar het werk dat ze achter de schermen in hun vak stoppen, het is voor mij eigenlijk een raadsel waarom sommige mensen dat niet zouden doen. Ieder zijn ding, maar soms is een grove opmerking gewoon een grove opmerking, en niet altijd terechte kritiek.

an ego trip is going on to a talented photographers website and feeling people are just dying to hear your non constructive criticism. I for one, as a photographer myself, love this content that shows his process and setup while being able to connect it to his finished product. In fact, with anyone talented, whether it be a musician, singer, dancer, etc, i love watching the work they put into their craft behind the scenes, its puzzling to me in fact why some people wouldnt. To each his own, but sometimes a rude comment is just a rude comment, and not always valid criticism.

Ik teken, schilder en ik heb beeldhouwkunst gedaan, maar ik beschouw mezelf niet als een kunstenaar, die titel is voorbehouden aan de echt creatievelingen. Ik maak foto's zoals de meeste mensen die nu een smartphone hebben en af en toe een fatsoenlijk beeld krijgen, dat kan met een camera. Maar kunnen ze piano of viool spelen of leven tekenen, wat een uitdaging kan zijn. Ik weet. Ik denk gewoon dat de term "artiest" nu overdreven is. De fotografie die aanspraak kan maken op enige artistieke verdienste was het zwart-wit van de jaren '40 en '50 omdat het oog voor het vaak toevallige moment vereiste. Geen meerdere shots maken en vervolgens een techniek toepassen om een onoprecht beeld te veranderen, te verbeteren en te produceren. Dit zeggen is niet om je werk te devalueren, sommige van je galerijen zijn uitstekend, je hebt misschien mijn lovende opmerkingen gelezen. Meestal becommentarieer ik alleen beelden, of het meisje, waar van toepassing. Ik zou nooit negatief zijn over een meisje, maar je bent een eerlijk spel en als je jezelf als creatief beschouwt, moet je bereid zijn om kritiek te accepteren. Yes we all have opinions for what they are worth. Sometimes you have to say stuff that's going to piss people off to create discussion. I say things that comes across as insensitive and sometimes I get it wrong. Like we all do at times because we are not perfect. I draw, paint and I've done sculpture but I don't consider myself an artist, that title is reserved for the truly creative. I take photos like most folk now who own smart phones and occasionally get a decent image, you can with a camera. But can they play the piano or a violin or do life drawing which can be challenging. I know. I just think that the term "artist "is over stated now. The photography that can claim to have some artistic merit was the black and white of the 40s and 50s because it required an eye for the often chance moment. No reeling off several shots and then applying some technique to alter, improve and produce an image that was insincere. Saying this is not to devalue your work, some of your galleries are outstanding, you may well have read my comments in praise. Usually I only comment on imagery, or the girl, where appropriate. I would never be negative about a girl but you are fair game and if you regard yourself as a creative then you should be prepared to take criticism. Some of the most illustrative artists of modern times, and the past, are often slated by the critics. It's part of the job description...
